Terms of Service
Last updated: April 30, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using TaxTrack ("the Service"), operated by TaxTrack Inc. ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and subscribers.
2. Description of Service
TaxTrack is an AI-assisted tax organization and guidance tool designed for Canadian taxpayers. The Service includes document storage, automated document review, deduction tracking, and access to Eldon — an AI model trained on Canadian tax law.
Important: TaxTrack and Eldon provide general tax information and guidance only. Nothing on this platform constitutes licensed tax advice, legal advice, or accounting services. You should verify all information with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or a qualified tax professional before filing your return.
3. Account Registration
You must register for an account to use most features of the Service. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
You must be at least 18 years old and a Canadian resident to use the Service. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscription Plans and Billing
TaxTrack offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans are billed annually through Stripe, our third-party payment processor.
- Free (Starter): Up to 25 documents, 250 Eldon Lite interactions per year
- Personal ($60/year): Unlimited documents, 500 Eldon Pro interactions per year, receipt OCR
- Pro ($200/year): All Personal features plus 500 Eldon Pro interactions per year, multi-year tracking, and bank sync
Eldon Pro AI assisted chat messages are limited to 500 interactions per year under the Personal and Pro tier plans. Eldon Lite interactions are limited to 250 per year under the Starter (free) plan.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if you have not used paid features. Contact hello@taxtrackai.com to request a refund.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of CRA regulations
- Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the AI model or underlying systems
- Share your account credentials with third parties
- Use the Service to file fraudulent tax returns or claim false deductions
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service
6. Document Storage and Data
You retain ownership of all documents and data you upload to TaxTrack. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process and store that content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not share your documents or financial data with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
We use Supabase for secure document storage with row-level encryption. Documents uploaded to TaxTrack are stored in Canada. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
7. AI Guidance Disclaimer
Eldon, our AI tax advisor, provides information based on publicly available Canadian tax law and CRA publications. While we strive for accuracy, Eldon may make errors or provide outdated information. Tax laws change, and individual circumstances vary significantly.
We are not responsible for penalties, interest, or assessments resulting from reliance on AI-generated guidance. Always verify deductions and credits with your accountant or the CRA before filing.
7a. Beta Product Limitations
TaxTrack is currently in beta. The Service is under active development and may contain errors, incomplete features, or unexpected behaviour. Features, pricing, and tax calculations are subject to change without prior notice during the beta period.
TaxTrack is not CRA NETFILE or EFILE certified. You cannot file your tax return directly with the CRA through TaxTrack at this time. TaxTrack helps you organise and prepare your return, which must then be filed through a certified filing software (such as Wealthsimple Tax) or with a licensed tax professional. We are working toward NETFILE certification with a target of February 2027. By using TaxTrack during the beta period, you acknowledge these limitations.
7b. Data Security Commitment
We take reasonable and industry-appropriate steps to protect your data, including TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, row-level security (RLS) database isolation, and storing your data on Canadian infrastructure. However, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required under PIPEDA and applicable law.
During the beta period, TaxTrack has not yet completed an independent security audit or penetration test. We intend to complete a third-party security audit by Q3 2026. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) in your account settings for additional protection.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, AI models, and content (excluding user-uploaded documents), is owned by TaxTrack Inc. and protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TaxTrack Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or CRA penalties, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms, without prior notice. You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@taxtrackai.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Toronto, Ontario.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a banner in the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
